How soon do you dispatch a driver after I request a pickup/delivery?

For urgent and emergency requests, we dispatch a driver immediately.  Usually, a driver can be at your site within the hour if your pickup is local.

If we have a non-urgent shipment we need to be delivered, is it better to give you a week or two notice?

Not really. We're set up to take pickup requests and act the same day, so there's no advantage in giving us advance notice. If you have a large shipment that requires one of our vans, you can call us a couple of days ahead to check on the van’s availability. But we even dispatch our vans for heavy shipments on the same day we receive a request.

What’s the upper weight limit on same-day shipments that you handle?

We can handle van shipments weighing up to 3,500 pounds. We are happy to run larger shipments in multiple loads if needed.


Are you really open 24 hours for deliveries?

When you call after normal business hours, a recorded message will direct you to select one of three choices: one for urgent medical deliveries, and a second for urgent commercial or industrial deliveries such as bringing in a part to repair a machine before the day shift begins. Each of the first two selections connects you directly with one of our staff. If the delivery request can wait for normal business hours, your third choice will be to leave a message. We don't mind that you call us at 3 a.m. with a non-urgent request, so long as you don't insist on waking us up.


Do you also do residential pickup and delivery?

No. Alpha Delivery Services is designed as a strictly business-to-business operation to meet the needs of our commercial and industrial clients.

What happens if my shipment gets delayed?

We have GPS in all of our vehicles so that we are aware of delays. The driver will always inform us of delays.

We shall do our best to make your delivery in a timely fashion. You are getting a dedicated driver and an appropriate vehicle size. Weather and road conditions apply and are considered an act of God. We can do nothing about road conditions. But we will inform you of any delays.

What is your cancellation policy?

As our drivers are routed minutes after a request is made and as drivers make commitments to go to a pickup location when receiving a request, Alpha Delivery Services, Inc. will charge a cancellation fee to compensate the driver for the time and money spent doing so. If your request is canceled within 5 minutes of the request being confirmed, you will not be charged.

  • A cancellation fee will always apply if:

  • A trip is canceled after it has begun and after the driver has arrived on our premises.

  • In the event that one of our supplied couriers failed to collect a package because:
    - incorrect paperwork
    - your premises were closed
    - insufficient packaging
    - customer not present

Alpha Delivery will then re-book the request for the next business day and the client is subject to a wasted journey charge. Cancellation fee amounts are subject to management approval and vary by service, city, and vehicle options.
